Texas Student Data System (TSDS) PEIMS is the new software application for the state's Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS). LEAs load, validate, and submit their PEIMS data to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) via TSDS PEIMS.

The TxEIS TSDS PEIMS Interchanges utility collects data from the TxEIS State Reporting pages, creates XML files, and packages them for transfer to TEA. You can create all of the interchanges at one time, or you can do them one at a time.

PEIMS is a statewide reporting system that enables local education agencies (LEAs) to provide information on district organization, finances, staff, and students, and course sections to the TEA. The TxEIS State Reporting application provides programs to extract the appropriate data for each PEIMS collection from the TxEIS Business and Student systems. These programs are reviewed and modified annually, per the published PEIMS Data Standards, to ensure that the data extracted to the district database is as accurate as possible. The extracts provide many of the edits as defined in the PEIMS Data Standards, and in some cases convert local codes to the state-mandated code values.

TxEIS State Reporting provides data maintenance functions needed to ensure the accuracy of the data saved in the district database, and helps ensure that the data will be accepted by the TEA editor. TxEIS State Reporting interfaces with the other TxEIS systems. Having the information from the Business and Student systems available to the State Reporting application means that you have to do less work to create and maintain PEIMS data.

The OCR system is a federal reporting system that enables local education agencies (LEAs) to provide information to the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR). This information includes student enrollment and educational programs and services data that is disaggregated by race/ethnicity, sex, limited English proficiency, and disability. The TxEIS OCR application provides support for the collection and flat file submission for School Form Part 1 and School Form Part 2. LEA Form Part 1 and LEA Form Part 2 is not supported in this application and should be completed through the OCR website.
